About The Position
Doane University is looking for a detail-oriented Financial Aid Counselor to join our Lincoln or Crete Campus! This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working three days on our Lincoln campus and two days remotely from home. As the Financial Aid Counselor, you will provide excellent customer service and guidance to financial aid applicants and their families throughout the financial aid application process. This role involves determining eligibility within the parameters of institutional, state, and federal requirements. Responsibilities include advising and assisting students with all aspects of financial aid, such as eligibility, policy clarification, loan process management, and providing information on financing options. You will utilize technology and systems (e.g., Colleague, NSLDS, COD, CPS, Scholarnet, MS Word, Excel) to determine student eligibility and originate financial aid awards, interpret complex financial aid regulations, understand personal income tax laws related to federal financial aid, and work both independently and collaboratively.
