Wichita Technical Institute (WTI) is an accredited institution recognized for its commitment to providing quality education through technical, hands-on training. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Financial Aid Coordinator to join our team. This position is under the direct supervision of the Director of Financial Aid and plays a crucial role in supporting our students by managing financial aid processes effectively. The Financial Aid Coordinator will be responsible for preparing tuition proposals, estimating grants and loans, and calculating payment agreements. This role requires a thorough understanding of Title IV aid processes, ensuring compliance with federal regulations while identifying and collecting necessary documentation from students. In addition to processing financial aid, the Financial Aid Coordinator will review ledger entries and perform general ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions. The position also involves coordinating various functions and duties that contribute to the overall success of the financial aid department. The ideal candidate will have a strong emphasis on customer service, a desire to assist students, and the ability to work independently without close supervision. A spirit of enthusiasm, energy, and multicultural awareness is essential for this role, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and students alike. The Financial Aid Coordinator will also be expected to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, as well as a moderate level of computer and technology proficiency. Accounting experience is preferred, and candidates should be prepared to work a schedule that includes Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 6 PM, with two days extending until 7 PM, and Fridays from 9 AM to 1 PM or 8 AM to noon. During peak periods, some weekend availability may be required.
