About The Position

The Financial Aid Coordinator at Stevens Institute of Technology serves as the primary contact for financial aid inquiries, assisting students and customers with applications and information regarding financial aid policies and regulations. This role involves organizing outreach materials, managing loan programs, maintaining records, and providing administrative support, while also supervising student workers and participating in recruitment events.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree
• 1-3 years of experience in customer/student services, preferably in higher education.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of financial aid processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience with higher education student information systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with financial aid applications and awarding information.
• Organizes, gathers, and disseminates materials for student financial aid outreach.
• Performs tasks related to financial aid loan programs, including certifying loans for timely disbursement.
• Establishes, maintains, and updates files, databases, and records for compliance with regulations.
• Investigates and resolves student issues and discrepancies regarding financial aid.
• Provides general administrative assistance including support services via walk-in, email, and phone.
• Hires and supervises student workers, assigning work and completing payroll information.
• Attends training and professional development opportunities as requested.
• Assists with departmental projects as needed.
• Participates in occasional evening and weekend recruitment events.
