About The Position

UCF’s Student Success and Well-Being Office of Student Financial Assistance is currently accepting applications for a Financial Aid Coordinator I. This role supports the effective and compliant administration of student financial aid programs. This position is crucial for promoting student success by assisting students and families in understanding financial aid eligibility, application processes, and regulatory requirements. The Coordinator will develop proficiency across all areas of financial aid, with a focus on becoming a subject matter expert within an assigned unit of the Financial Aid Office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and problem resolution.
  • Experience with public speaking or delivering presentations to small and large groups.
  • Prior Financial Aid knowledge or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing software such as Zoom, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert, timely counseling to students and families regarding financial aid options, eligibility, application processes, and required documentation via email, in-person, and virtual appointments.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies in student records, complete verification processes, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional regulations (including Title IV).
  • Assist in the accurate awarding and packaging of financial aid, including scholarships (Foundation, departmental, external), and federal and private loans.
  • Process necessary adjustments to aid packages based on changes in eligibility or special circumstances.
  • Monitor student files for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and advise students on the requirements for maintaining eligibility.
  • Advise students on how enrollment changes impact their financial aid.
  • Represent Student Financial Assistance in outreach efforts, presentations, and workshops to educate current and prospective students on financial aid resources and processes.
  • Actively participate in training and workshops to maintain expert knowledge of all relevant federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to team projects and initiatives focused on improving processing efficiency and enhancing student service delivery.
