About The Position

The Financial Aid Analyst at Allan Hancock College is responsible for processing financial aid applications, awarding and monitoring various financial aid programs, and advising students and staff on eligibility and application processes. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, public relations, financial services, or related fields.
  • Two years of experience in student financial aid or related areas.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to operate financial aid software.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial aid programs.

Responsibilities

  • Process financial aid applications and award multiple financial aid programs.
  • Advise and educate students and parents on financial aid options and application processes.

  • Verify financial and household information on applications and resolve conflicts.
  • Evaluate transcripts and academic history to assess eligibility for financial aid.
  • Ensure accurate data entry in the financial aid delivery system for award calculations.
  • Explain financial aid awards and responsibilities to students.
  • Assist in personal budgeting for students.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence related to financial aid.
  • Develop and implement internal policies for financial aid processing.
  • Plan and conduct financial aid workshops and outreach programs.
