About The Position

The Financial Aid Advisor plays a pivotal role in guiding students through the financial aid process, ensuring compliance with all applicable state, federal, accreditation, and institutional regulations. This position is integral to supporting students in achieving their educational goals by providing expert advice and tailored financial aid solutions. Operating within a structured and regulated framework, the Financial Aid Advisor ensures the accurate and efficient development, negotiation, and finalization of financial aid packages. Key highlights of this role include: Providing strategic financial aid counseling to prospective and current students, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives and regulatory requirements. Leveraging technical knowledge of financial aid programs to optimize student support and enhance the overall enrollment process. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education in a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations impacting Title IV funding.
  • Previous experience working with and technical knowledge of student financial aid programs is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a post-secondary institution, demonstrating expertise in financial aid processes and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively support students and uphold institutional standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with CampusVue or similar student information systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, negotiate, and finalize student financial aid plans in strict accordance with state, federal, accreditation, and institutional policies and regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive counseling to students regarding financial aid options available based on their acceptance and enrollment status.
  • Deliver expert guidance on financial aid planning, ensuring students are well-informed about their options and obligations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of financial aid activities to ensure compliance and facilitate audits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address any discrepancies or issues related to financial aid packaging and disbursement.
  • Stay updated on changes to financial aid regulations and policies to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
