About The Position

The Financial Aid Advisor - Remote supports students and families by providing clear information, accurate funding guidance, and responsive assistance throughout the financial aid process. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistent follow‑up, and the ability to explain financial aid concepts in a friendly and compassionate way. Advisors may work with future students preparing to enroll or active students who need ongoing financial aid support to stay enrolled and progress toward graduation. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required. Some college courses preferred.
  • 2 years Financial Aid experience highly preferred
  • 3 years of experience in customer service or sales
  • Computer Skills (Word, Excel and SharePoint)
  • Customer Service Skills
  • Organization Skills
  • Professional communication Skills (verbal and written)
  • Multi-Tasking and Time Management Skills; can adapt to a changing fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate tuition and financial aid recalculations for program changes, re-enrollments, and double‑coursing scenarios, ensuring all adjustments comply with Title IV regulations and institutional policy.
  • Analyze student eligibility for federal, state, and alternative funding and clearly explain cost of attendance, award changes, and disbursement impacts to students and parents in person and over the phone.
  • Manage a dedicated caseload of students throughout the financial aid lifecycle, completing behind‑the‑scenes processing, verification updates, and funding adjustments with precision and urgency.
  • Partner with Admissions, Student Affairs, Education, and Accounting teams to support student continuity, improve retention outcomes, and ensure seamless financial aid experiences from start to finish.
  • Provide high‑quality student and family support by identifying barriers, offering clear solutions, and guiding them through financial aid milestones with professionalism, accuracy, and excellent communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.
