Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Responsibilities

• Advise students and families on financial aid eligibility requirements for federal, state, and institutional aid programs
• Communicate with students and parents in person, on the phone, and through e-mail
• Assist students with completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Discuss scholarship and grant renewal criteria
• Counsel students and parents on Satisfactory Academic Progress, the Special-Circumstances process, and Verification
• Advise students on study abroad costs and trip planning
• Assist students with Loan Entrance and Exit Counseling
• Counsel students on loan debt, repayment plans, and loan consolidation
• Perform outreach activities, including supervising an information table at events, high school presentations, and departmental presentations
• Represent Student Financial Aid within the state, regional, and national financial aid organizations
• Other duties as assigned
