About The Position

The Financial Aid Advisor II provides a vast array of knowledge regarding federal aid programs, private lending procedures, and university policies under moderate supervision. Applies knowledge to each student account under review to maintain continued compliance and eligibility for Title IV funding. Informs students of public, institutional, and private resources available for educational expenses. Evaluates the financial need of applicants and applies knowledge to those needs. Administers federal aid funding and resolves moderate-complexity financial aid issues. Mentors and supports entry-level Advisors or support professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of financial aid experience; OR master's degree.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
  • Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various groups of people.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Superior organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and/or database management.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public relations, marketing, communications, education, counseling or related field.
  • Financial aid experience at a major university to include a basic knowledge of federal student aid programs.
