Organization: SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Bay Position Overview: Ensures that staff manages referrals appropriately and that timely and consistent communication with sites is maintained at all times. Participates in managing referral requests including entering required information into the electronic medical record and coordinating initial care with referral sources and locations. Utilizes and promotes use of excellent customer service skills when working with referral sources and site staff. Less than 50% of time spent, on average, is performing the duties of the individuals being supervised. Job Description: EDUCATION: HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 5 years of recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Knowledge of insurances and authorization processes. Familiarity with government billing regulations, including The Health Care Finance Administration (HCFA), Medicare, and Medi-Cal/Medicaid. Medical Terminology, familiarity of state and federal laws regarding Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word and Power Point proficiency. Ability to effectively utilize consultative skills and maintain interpersonal relationships with the department and at all levels of the organization. Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects while delivering quality service/achieving business results. Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates commitment to providing exceptional customer service and responding to customer needs/requests in a prompt, courteous manner. Medical terminology, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)/Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS)/International Classification of Diseases (ICD)-9 coding knowledge. Pay Range is $90,147.20 to $135,200.00 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Requirements
