About The Position

Financial Accountant Location: Remote (Must reside in North Carolina) Position Summary Banyan Search is working with a best in class company that is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our remote team. This position is responsible for general accounting functions including investment accounting, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. Additional Information This is a full-time position offering the flexibility of remote work. The successful candidate must have a reliable home office setup with high-speed internet access and must be available during standard business hours. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 2+ years of accounting experience required
  • Must reside in North Carolina
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting processes including investment accounting, reconciliation, and reporting
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and regulatory reports
  • Complete month-end close activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Monitor and reconcile investment portfolios and related general ledger accounts
  • Prepare financial reports for management and board presentations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
