Texas Athletics Business Office is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Finance Team Student Associate for Spring 2026. This role is designed for students pursuing careers in finance, accounting, and sports business who want hands-on experience working inside a major NCAA Division I athletics department. The Finance Intern will support team functions and projects including budgeting, financial report building, reconciliations, and equipment / asset management. The Finance intern will report to the Program Manager: Finance and Analytics and work closely with the entire business office team.

Responsibilities

  • Process payment vouchers for different revenue streams.
  • Manage financial activity related to hosted camps and events: including processing transactions, issuing refunds, and ensuring compliance with university policy.
  • Code and categorize departmental revenues and expenses within the university’s ERP system to ensure accurate accounting and budget tracking.
  • Support inventory and asset management, including maintaining records and using internal systems to complete annual audits of athletic equipment and fixed assets.
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial report creation, using Excel, Tableau, and internal data sources to support financial decision making which includes but is not limited to: asset management, competitive analysis, and different revenue streams
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Actively participate in assigned education and training programs.
  • Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws.
  • Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income.
  • Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR.
  • Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation.
  • In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and Texas Education Code Sec. 51.252, this position may be a Non-Confidential Employee as defined by University policies on Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Interpersonal Violence and Stalking.
