About The Position

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Finance Specialist at the Global Operations & Innovation Center in Wheeling, WV. The Finance Specialist will work closely with the Director – Billing & Collections and Finance Teams to ensure the Billing and Collection’s group continue to deliver a high-quality service to our internal and external clients. The Finance Specialist will be required to manage projects from start to finish, including presentations to all levels inside and outside the Firm. Who is Orrick? Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with 1-3 years of applicable experience.
  • Highly proficient in the use of computerized general ledger systems (CMS) and advanced Excel/MS Word applications, and operating in a Windows environment
  • Self-starter, highly motivated and well organized
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with timekeepers on time entry hygiene, practice management and outside counsel guideline compliance
  • Bridge our communications between Orrick’s finance department and the client’s finance department
  • Ensure all client setups are adhering to our client’s guidelines
  • Develop and implement new financial workflows that align with recognized best practices
  • Identify and implement improvements to workflows
  • Develop and implement training programs for finance departments
  • Provide cross departmental overviews to new hires in Finance
  • Provide Prebill Manager to new hires in the practice offices
  • Perform internal audits to ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to and are consistent across the Firm
  • Work on special projects and strategic initiatives
  • Compile ad hoc reports to support the day to day operations of the billing and collection’s departments
