Position Purpose: Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals within the Finance organization. You will also gain exposure to technical and commercial aspects of the VNA business while supporting the Finance team with its planning & analysis requirements. You will assist the Finance team in achieving its project goals and objectives as an active participant. Internships are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures. Although this position is focused on The ESS business unit, candidates may support any of the Veolia North America business functions.

Requirements

  • Working towards a four year degree and in a Finance or Accounting major.
  • 3.2 Cumulative G.P.A required.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Google Workspace applications – Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Drive.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP ERP system experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Regional/Branch Finance professionals, supporting their completion of budget templates & budget tool inputs--answering questions and offering guidance to ensure timely & accurate submissions.
  • Work with operations teams in support of monthly closing activities, assisting in the development and maintenance of financial analysis packages aligned to regional, legal entity and business line reporting.
  • Work with the Finance team to optimize & maintain the financial landing file and profitability analysis by Region and Business Line—key working analyses during each monthly closing.
  • Work on various projects related to Support Functions’ (departmental) process improvements, or special projects in a variety of areas in order to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives.
  • Communicate issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
  • May be asked to prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses.
  • Produce findings and draw conclusions from analyses.
  • Make oral and written recommendations to management.
