About The Position

The Finance and Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing and providing financial analysis to support the organization's fiscal health. This role supports budgeting, reporting, payroll administration, and strategic decision-making through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will demonstrate accuracy, integrity, and a strong understanding of payroll systems and financial principles. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with payroll and accounting software (UKG preferred).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with nonprofit financial systems and payroll operations preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of biweekly payroll.
  • Maintain and review payroll data, deductions, and benefits-related records.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly statements for payroll-related accounts (health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, etc.).
  • Analyze financial data and prepare reports for internal stakeholders, including variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and monitor budget performance.
  • Conduct journal entries and account reconciliations, including payroll liabilities and benefits costs.
  • Manage and monitor cash flow related to payroll and operational needs.
  • Prepare reports for external stakeholders such as auditors and grantors.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll-related laws, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests related to payroll and finance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data integrity for all financial and payroll records.
  • Prepare and monitor debt compliance requirements as applicable.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll-related legislation and tax compliance.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal departments.
