About The Position

With nearly 2,000 team members around the world, and a rich legacy spanning more than 70 years, Versar Global Solutions delivers a broad array of planning, analysis and risk management solutions, project and program management, operations and maintenance services, and information technology applications for environmental management and remediation projects, mission critical facilities and installations, and in support of readiness and contingency operations. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of a business unit and provide strategic guidance to support business decision-making. Key responsibilities include overseeing the full project lifecycle, including pricing, accounting, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and internal reporting. Additional duties involve ensuring compliance with federal regulations, GAAP, and company policies. The Finance Manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and ensure the fiscal health of the organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project controls, finance, or accounting, with strong collaboration and communication skills. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Finance Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
  • CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/financial systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and provide strategic business partnership.
  • Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Successful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
  • Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
  • Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

  • Familiarity with financial modeling, data analytics tools, and business intelligence platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily finance operations of the Business Unit.
  • Oversee project forecast/EAC development and reporting to support accurate revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Lead change management initiatives to standardize and transform internal business operations policies.
  • Prepare, analyze, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial reviews.
  • Develop and review outbound invoices for accuracy and contract compliance.
  • Monitor and manage billed and unbilled accounts receivable, ensuring adequate liquidity and meeting DSO targets.
  • Support operational leadership in budgeting and forecasting development.
  • Develop and build the business acumen of junior team members.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and objectives.
  • Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, investments, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital requirements.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Partner with department leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team.
