About The Position

The Senior Finance Manager – USA Region is a hands‑on finance leadership role with full end‑to‑end responsibility for USA regional finance operations within a manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the General Manager US, this role acts as the primary finance partner to USA leadership, with strong accountability for financial performance, operational insight, and execution. The role is operational, execution‑focused, and data‑driven, requiring both leadership capability and personal ownership of analysis and deliverables. The position is based in Forest Lake, Minnesota, and works closely with USA manufacturing operations. It is well suited for a Big 4–trained professional or a manufacturing finance leader who prefers being close to the business and actively involved in analysis and decision support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field (required).
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS exposure considered an advantage.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing finance, including:
  • Cost accounting and standard costing
  • Variance analysis and margin analysis by SKU
  • Inventory valuation and obsolescence
  • Overhead absorption and productivity metrics
  • Solid knowledge of internal controls, audit requirements, and financial governance in a multi‑entity environment.
  • Practical understanding of working capital management, cash flow, and balance‑sheet drivers.
  • Familiarity with CAPEX evaluation, investment appraisal, and post‑investment performance tracking.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial models, scenario analysis, large data sets).
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g. D365 or similar manufacturing ERP platforms).
  • Hands‑on capability with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI or equivalent).
  • Ability to structure, analyze, and interpret complex financial and operational data independently.
  • High attention to data quality, consistency, and transparency across reports and dashboards.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into operational and strategic insights.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, execution‑oriented role, combining leadership with individual contribution.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial topics clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (preferred).
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) strongly preferred; CMA or equivalent professional certification considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead all finance activities for the USA region, covering multiple legal entities and manufacturing sites.
  • Act as the primary finance business partner to the General Manager US and USA leadership team.
  • Maintain full accountability for USA financial performance, reporting accuracy, internal controls, and compliance (US GAAP and IFRS where applicable).
  • Prepare and oversee USA financial statements and management reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and multi‑year financial planning processes.
  • Drive financial governance, internal controls, and standardized finance processes across USA entities.
  • Lead and develop USA finance team members while remaining personally involved in critical analyses.
  • Personally lead manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, SKU‑level margin analysis, and overhead absorption.
  • Perform detailed inventory valuation and obsolescence analyses with clear corrective actions.
  • Own working capital analytics with deep dives into inventory, receivables, and payables.
  • Build and review CAPEX business cases and track post‑investment performance.
  • Actively support month‑end close to ensure accuracy and discipline.
  • Act as the primary financial data analyst for the USA region.
  • Build, maintain, and improve financial models, dashboards, and reports (Excel, Power BI, ERP).
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for operations and leadership.
  • Perform ad‑hoc analyses to support pricing, productivity, make‑or‑buy, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities through data.
  • Lead USA statutory and internal audits.
  • Coordinate tax, treasury, insurance, and compliance activities with external advisors.
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for auditors and USA financial stakeholders.
