About The Position

The Finance Manager/Controller will be responsible for supporting the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and cost accounting activities while partnering with manufacturing and operational teams. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supports monthly close and compliance activities, and provides financial analysis to support business decisions. This position offers strong exposure to manufacturing accounting, inventory/cost accounting, and operational finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across departments in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with costing methodologies and inventory accounting

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries including accruals, inventory adjustments, payroll, and fixed assets
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Support internal controls and financial compliance initiatives
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, and asset tracking
  • Support regulatory reporting, including sales and use tax filings as required
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Prepare financial reporting packages and variance analysis for leadership review
  • Analyze financial results and provide supporting explanations for operational leadership
  • Support inventory accounting including valuation, reconciliation, and reserve analysis
  • Assist with annual standard cost roll and maintenance of costing structures
  • Analyze manufacturing variances including labor, material, and overhead variances
  • Monitor inventory for excess and obsolete items and support mitigation strategies
  • Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle count programs
  • Partner with operations and engineering to support capital project tracking and financial reporting
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Support commercial teams with margin analysis and pricing insights
  • Develop financial reporting tools and analysis to improve operational decision-making
  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting tools, and internal controls
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis
