About The Position

The Finance Manager position is accountable for the accounting operations of the CORE operations agency. Working under the supervision of the Director of Finance, alongside the Finance Manager for Fiscal Sponsorship, and with support from an Accounting Specialist. Duties to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Requirements

  • The Finance Manager should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience and include 3+ years of full-cycle nonprofit accounting.
  • Must have a strong understanding of accrual-basis accounting principles.
  • Has good general knowledge of computer operations; uses a keyboard and calculator proficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Use of Sage Intacct and/or other accounting system on a comprehensive level.
  • Uses Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Internet and email programs proficiently.
  • Maintains professional behavior, dress and appearance at all times.
  • Attends meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Drives personal car on work errands and for other purposes; maintains driving record and personal car insurance in accordance with organization’s policies and provides related records periodically.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, including DOJ and FBI criminal checks.
  • On-site presence is an essential function of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Performs monthly, full-cycle accounting for CORE services, including data entry/classification, bank reconciliation, journal entry posting, and balance sheet management.
  • Lead on Accounts Receivable efforts for CORE Invoices, including creation, client communication, and receiving payment.
  • Maintains the chart of accounts and ensure proper coding and classification.
  • Prepares and review financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Provides monthly variance reports and Accounts Receivable Aging Reports to Internal program leads and Leadership Team.
  • Able to assess financials, report, and coach the team as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Helps with the preparation and support for the annual financial audit & tax form 990.
  • Maintains internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Adheres to monthly deadlines for accuracy.
