About The Position

Amazon MGM Studios (AMS) Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is looking for a Finance Manager to support the business and finance teams, with a focus on managing the financial planning efforts, with direct ownership of Theatrical Film FP&A forecasting and Ultimates. This role will focus on both core financial planning cycles, including Month-End Close, Quarterly Guidance forecasts and Annual Operating Plans, as well, film ultimate scenario analysis and maintenance of film slate. This role provides exposure to both finance partners and business teams (strategy, marketing, production, etc.). You'll be the financial storyteller behind blockbuster movies, translating complex data into narratives that drive Amazon MGM Studios' success. Your day will be a blend of creative financial analysis and collaborative problem-solving. You'll dive deep into film financial models, uncovering insights that shape strategic decisions across production, distribution, and strategy teams. No two days will look the same as you navigate the evolving film financial landscape. Requirements

  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
  • 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 5+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Knowledge of Python Pandas and time-series forecasting packages
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Responsibilities

  • Develop sophisticated financial models that forecast theatrical film performance, tracking revenue streams and cost dynamics
  • Maintain comprehensive film slate and ultimates projections, adapting to evolving release strategies and market conditions
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting of Film Business P&L
  • Partner cross-functionally with Strategy, Distribution, and Production teams to generate actionable financial insights
  • Manage and mentor film financial analyst
