Requirements

• 5+ years of Corporate FP&A or Accounting experience
• 5+ years of Essbase, Oracle, Other Financial Systems experience
• 5+ years of Excel Modeling experience
• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, financial profit and loss statements, depreciation and amortization, capitalization
• Curiosity and willingness to learn/understand the business beyond the financials
• Ability to simplify difficult concepts
• Ability to connect with different audiences
• Strong communication skills
• Strong and reliable experience with Excel, working knowledge of Oracle, Essbase, PowerBi or other visualization reporting tools
• Anaplan tool knowledge a plus
• Experience managing and developing people or team

Nice To Haves

• MBA or Master's Degree in finance or related field
• Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA
• Experience in a larger or multinational organization

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Staples Technology Team with financial oversight, management and analysis
• Manage, train, and mentor a team of 4-5 analysts to meet job/team responsibilities
• Leverage technical systems to efficiently and effectively aggregate data used to support our regular budgeting, forecasting and financial analyzation process
• Play key role in the budgeting process - Lead process to collect, interpret and explain all expense and capital required to run or grow the business from a technology perspective
• Coordinate forecast inputs, changes or adjustments with several Vice Presidents (VP) of key Technology departments
• Participate in financial monthly close process; ensure conformity with GAAP as well as internal guidelines and procedures
• Interpret actual results and provide clear and concise variance-to-plan explanations
• Establish strong working relationships with internal, key technology department area leaders (CIO, VPs and Directors), helping them navigate the financial details of their business
• Regularly communicate financial results, insights and outlooks to key business partners - CIO, Vice Presidents of key Technology departments, Accounting, Finance and/or Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or SVP of Finance
