The Internship Experience what it is like to work in a large, corporate finance organization by becoming integrated within a finance team. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to day-to-day activities and meaningful projects. These roles are compensated at $22/hour and interns will work 40-hours a week during business hours for about 10 weeks. Start and end dates are flexible based on your academic schedule and business needs. Location: The internships are required to be onsite Monday-Friday at our office in Westbrook, ME Based on your interests and skill set you would be assigned to one of the following business areas/projects: Revenue & Corporate Accounting: You will support the Accounting team with month-end close activities, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on exposure to revenue recognition, contract review, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a dynamic corporate environment. The intern will assist with analyzing large data sets, supporting system-based processes, and helping streamline manual workflows through automation and documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical accounting experience while working cross-functionally with Finance, Revenue, and Systems teams. Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis: This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure across all areas of the IDEXX - including visibility into all lines of business (Companion Animal Group, Water, Livestock Poultry Dairy) and across the full P&L (Revenue, Gross Margin, and Operating Expense). The selected intern will support both routine responsibilities and project-based work, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard deliverables and contributing to enhancements that will add value to our future operations. Key Areas of Work Support revenue, gross margin, and operating expense planning, reporting, and analysis Learn and apply financial modeling techniques Build out dashboards to support quick identification of outliers to trend Support headcount reporting and analysis Provide financial support to business partners and senior leadership Assist with key corporate deliverables Commercial Finance: This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure across all areas of the Commercial organization - including Operating Expense (OPEX), Revenue, and Pricing. The selected intern will support both routine responsibilities and project-based work, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard deliverables and contributing to enhancements that will add value to our future operations. Key Areas of Work: OPEX Build and use dashboards for operating expense analysis and reporting Learn and apply journal entry processing and account reconciliation Support headcount reporting and analysis Assist with key corporate deliverables Provide financial support to business partners and senior leadership Revenue Support revenue planning, reporting, and analysis Learn and apply financial modeling techniques Conduct visit trend analysis and gain an understanding of core business drivers Pricing Assist with customer price increase analysis

Requirements

  • Students pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or MBA degree (2026 and 2027 graduation dates preferred)
  • Solid coursework in finance, accounting, math, or related disciplines
  • A demonstrated pattern of high academic achievement
  • Leadership experience in an academic, work or community setting
  • Strong analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starters with the ability work independently with limited supervision
  • A curiosity to solve problems
  • Ability to work in Westbrook, Maine without housing assistance
