About The Position

This role will assist with supporting the Finance, Treasury, and Accounting Operations teams with various daily and monthly functions such as general ledger reconciliations, preparing journal entries, trial balance review, and data validation. Experience will be gained with exposure to both accounting and financial software systems as well as participate in creating and suggesting team process efficiencies to department leadership.

Requirements

Actively in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
Be proficient in Excel and be able to navigate other computerized database systems.
Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
Exemplify strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

Perform and assist with bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
Assist with reconciling cash advance transactions.
Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
Discuss with VP Controller, VP Treasurer, or Accounting Operations Manager.
Assist with Accounts Payable processes.
Prepare balance sheet data for bi-weekly deliverables.
Provide general administrative duties, such as filing or organizing documents.
Abide by credit union policies and department procedures, updating any that are assigned by the VP Controller.
