Our Summer Intern Program is aimed at providing an enriching and mutually beneficial experience that empowers young talent with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to excel in their chosen fields and prepare them for the next step in their careers. In addition to their working teams, the cohort will have regular opportunities to engage with each other and senior leaders from across Advarra to expand their networks and exposure to the business. The Finance Intern is responsible for reviewing, compiling, and analyzing financial data to aid management with timely and accurate financial information which drives business decisions. The Finance Intern will also assist with the active management of the delinquent accounts to achieve optimum cash flow for the company, in addition to posting payments and ensuring the accuracy of the customer payment application.

Requirements

  • Graduate or undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Ability to participate in the cohort beginning Monday, June 2, 2025 and running through Friday, August 8, 2025 and work 40 hours per week between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm EST.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Review weekly banking activity against budgeted/forecasted data to aid in assuring adequate cash coverage is available.
  • Prepare monthly and/or quarterly account reconciliations for assigned transactions/GL accounts.
  • Summarize billing data for inclusion in quarterly tax returns prepared internally.
  • Review status of delinquent accounts weekly and collect delinquent balance.
  • Research disputed delinquent account balances and take appropriate action to resolve the underlying issues.
  • Loading client invoices to their payment portals.
  • Process and monitor credits and returns to ensure that the receivable aging report reflects valid and collectable balance.
  • Apply daily cash receipts including credit card payments.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
