About The Position

We are seeking a Finance Intern to support key financial processes that drive operational performance, margin visibility, and business decision‑making. This internship offers hands-on experience with core finance activities including freight funding, margin analysis, month-end close, and customer service reporting. You will gain exposure to real business scenarios while developing analytical, reporting, and presentation skills in a dynamic corporate environment. This position will be located at our headquarters in Carmel, Indiana. This is a full time internship starting in late May and ending mid August.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Ideal candidates will be entering their Junior or Senior year with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with an interest in understanding operational and financial drivers.
  • Familiarity with financial statements and basic accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in numbers and reporting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience with PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel are required

Nice To Haves

  • experience with PowerBI or data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Finance team members to support daily, weekly, and monthly operational finance needs.
  • Assist with Freight Funding, including weekly preparation of funding, reviewing invoices against accruals, and approving payments.
  • Support Margin Analysis (MA) preparation by uploading costs, identifying discrepancies in expected product margins, and highlighting variances for review.
  • Contribute to period close activities, including incurred-to-COS entries and other miscellaneous cost-of-sales journal entries.
  • Assist with Month-End Close (MEC) deliverables such as preparing MEC graphs (e.g., commodity and currency trends, waterfall analyses).
  • Support Customer Service reporting, including recurring reports and MEC accrual preparation.
  • Participate in strategic project work and other ad-hoc financial analyses as assigned.
  • Develop clear and effective PowerPoint presentations to communicate financial insights to leadership.
