The Finance Intern will be a valued team member to the Finance/Accounting department in the Consumer Power business group, Generac’s largest business group. This role will provide thoughtful opportunities to observe and participate in real-world examples of their in-class studies which include various tasks in both the areas of Accounting and FP&A (financial planning & analysis). The Finance Intern will have visibility to the finance/accounting leaders as well as executive leadership of the Consumer Power business group. This role will be a full-time position during the summer but will also be part-time during the 2026/2027 school year . Hours during the school year will be 12-15 hours during the week and are flexible based on class schedule. This position is based onsite at our Pewaukee, WI office.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Accounting or a similar field with an expected graduation date of on or before May 2027.
  • Previous experience with financial reporting via coursework or work.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, showing initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Available to work Summer 2026 between end of May/early June to end of August for 40 hours per week, then parttime (12-15 hours per week) through the academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team with daily/monthly activities, including updating reporting to monitor shipments, orders, gross margins and operating expenses, as well as other ad hoc analysis using tools such as PowerBI and SAP.
  • Prepare forecasts under supervision from the Director Finance and Sr. FP&A Analyst.
  • Assist team with monthly close activities.
  • Assist with month-end financial book preparation.
