Finance Intern – Summer 2026
About The Position
Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike. As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting high-impact initiatives within the Finance team. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the clean energy industry, real project ownership, and the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing organization.
Requirements
- Rising undergraduate Senior (Class of 2027) OR current graduate student (Class of 2026 or 2027)
- Demonstrated interest in clean energy, infrastructure, finance, operations, or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
- Eagerness to learn and contribute meaningfully to a team
- Interest and/or experience utilizing AI to improve efficiency and productivity
Responsibilities
- Partner with Finance Operations team to track and analyze cash flows associated with state-level incentives and programs that drive project economics, gaining insight into how policy and incentives support renewable energy development
- Learn about the debt financing process for clean energy projects, including how construction and operating funds are modeled, requested, reviewed, and funded by lenders
- Support the Tax Equity financing process for clean energy projects, including Investment Tax Credits (ITC) and related policies under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Development, Delivery, and Asset Management teams to understand the full project lifecycle
- Ad hoc support across the Finance team: Finance Operations, Tax Equity, and Debt
