Meijer offers an 11-week internship program designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the finance function of a retail enterprise. This program challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the internship, participants will engage in diverse personal and professional development opportunities that enhance their skillsets, which can be applied both during and after the program. Interns will have the chance to interact with fellow interns and senior leaders at Meijer, fostering a collaborative learning environment. The internship includes a variety of components such as challenging and impactful projects, final presentations delivered to senior executives, an executive speaker series, professional development and training opportunities, networking events, and community engagement activities. Interns will gain exposure to key areas of the business, allowing them to understand the broader context of their work and its impact on the organization. As a Finance Intern, participants will focus on one of four possible areas: Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis, Corporate Accounting, Capital Planning, Property Accounting & Treasury, or Financial Operations. Each area has specific responsibilities that contribute to the overall financial health of Meijer. Interns will participate in financial scorecards, provide cost accounting support, assist with cash management, and analyze financial transactions, among other tasks. This role is ideal for students pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, or business, particularly those at the junior level who have completed coursework in Financial Accounting.
