The Opportunity Job Description This opportunity may lead to selection into a two-and-a-half-year development rotational program following graduation. The Finance Future Leaders Program has the goal to develop future finance leaders with a broad understanding of finance functions, strong technical skills, and strategic thinking ability through mentorship, training modules, regular and timely performance feedback, and stretch projects that focus on driving business improvement and efficiencies. Rotations follow specific curriculum components that will build skills across key finance areas. Each rotational assignment is approximately 10 months. Our internship program lets you showcase your skills, while gaining real-life experience that’ll help you jump-start your career. Our interns deliver innovative solutions to real business challenges, while building enduring relationships in a collaborative culture with their manager and an assigned mentor. The internship will be based either at the USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, TX, or Charlotte, NC, based on business needs. What you'll do: Under direct supervision and following risk and compliance procedures and guidance, you will perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members tasks, including the following Within defined guidelines and frameworks, uses financial principles to solve business problems while performing forecasting, planning, and financial modeling related to income, profitability, liquidity, capital, leverage, asset and liability management or operating expense Supports preparation of recurring or ad-hoc financial reports and analysis or cost benefit analysis to support internal and external management decision-making. Under supervision, contributes to the preparation of advised, proactive analysis to enable effective decision-making and efficient resource utilization. Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensures risks are optimally identified, measured, monitored, and controlled Ensures all activities are completed within regulatory and compliance guidelines.
