UVA Facilities Management is seeking a motivated finance professional to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals who enjoy problem solving, digging into financial details, and supporting colleagues across a large, mission-driven organization. You’ll work closely with both financial and operational teams to ensure purchasing activity is accurate, timely, and aligned with University policies and project needs. In this role, you’ll do more than process transactions—you’ll analyze data, support decision-making, strengthen internal controls, and help improve the way our purchasing and financial workflows operate. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and comfort learning Workday and other financial systems.
  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience.

  • Experience in a finance, accounting, or procurement environment (internships welcome).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Review purchase orders and expense transactions to ensure proper accounting codes and classifications.
  • Monitor standing purchase orders to ensure adequate funding and coordinate service renewals with operational owners.
  • Make corrections and adjustments across financial and operational systems.
  • Provide guidance to departmental purchasers on procedures, policies, and business processes.
  • Track outstanding purchase orders for accuracy and initiate closeout procedures to remove unnecessary commitments.
  • Respond to supplier inquiries regarding commitments, payment terms, and related issues.
  • Provide spend analytics to leadership to support operational and administrative decision‑making.
  • Prepare reports and analyses to support departmental needs.
  • Participate in regular meetings and training to stay current on policy and procedural updates.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
