About The Position

The College of Business at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), an AACSB-accredited institution, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance to begin in August 2026. We are particularly interested in candidates with teaching and/or industry experience in Insurance & Risk Management or Real Estate, two high-demand areas that align with departmental strategic goals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate teaching excellence, an active research agenda consistent with AACSB scholarly academic (SA) qualifications, and the ability to contribute to service at the department, college, and university levels. Prior professional business experience in finance, insurance, or real estate is highly valued and strongly preferred.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. or DBA in Finance or a closely related field, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution.
• ABD candidates must have a scheduled dissertation defense date prior to the employment start date.
• Demonstrate the ability to meet Scholarly Academic (SA) qualifications under AACSB standards.
• Provide evidence of teaching effectiveness at the university level.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching and/or professional work experience in Insurance & Risk Management or Real Estate.
• Professional business experience in related fields or leadership in business, government, or professional associations.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Finance and subfields such as Insurance, Risk Management, or Real Estate.
• Maintain an active research agenda that meets AACSB scholarly academic standards.
• Participate in curriculum development and assessment activities.
• Provide service to the department, college, university, and professional communities.
• Mentor students and contribute to student engagement through co-curricular activities.
• Deliver courses in face-to-face and asynchronous online formats.
