About The Position

CENTRL provides AI Powered Diligence & Response Platform For the Financial Industry. Our clients include some of the largest banks and investment management firms across the Americas, Europe, and APAC. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, CENTRL has regional offices in New York, India, and the United Kingdom. The CENTRL business model is enterprise B2B SaaS. We seek a highly skilled and motivated Finance Director/ Controller to join our team and lead our financial accounting department. This position is preferred hybrid out of our Mountain View, CA HQ Office (3 days per week in the office, 2 days work-from-home).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • SaaS / Subscription business model experience.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced Excel / Google sheet skills and comfort with financial modeling and analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, business partnership, and interpersonal abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CFA, and/or other relevant certifications are a bonus.
  • Experience leading accounting at a venture-backed startup.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all operational accounting functions including Revenue Recognition, Client Billing, and Expense Management.
  • Ownership for all Financial Planning & Reporting activities.
  • Provide operational finance support to the CEO, COO and the CENTRL leadership team.
  • Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
  • Providing management with financial information vital to the decision-making process.
  • Co-management in budgeting and forecast processes.
  • Work with our FP&A lead on processes & information for management and investor reporting.
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes.
  • Integral to development of board of director and investor presentation materials.
  • Coordination with our external auditors.
  • Oversee annual third-party company valuation (409a).
  • Developing and monitoring business performance metrics.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting tools, as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting operations.
  • Ownership, development and maintenance of internal control policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and GAAP standards.
  • Oversee HRIS and Payroll processes.
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting and finance staff.
