About the job: We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Senior Finance Data Analyst to join the Finance & Data Analytics team of a U.S. branch and broker dealer of a multinational bank based in Spain. This role will be instrumental in transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights, designing automation solutions, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with robust technical capabilities in SQL, Python, and data automation. Job Description: As a Senior Finance Data Analyst, you will work closely with Finance, Business, and Operations teams to design efficient data processes, conduct deep financial analyses, and produce high-quality reporting assets. You will be responsible for extracting data from internal environments, building automated workflows, and creating dashboards when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • 5 years of experience in data analytics, financial analysis, or similar roles.
  • Strong expertise in SQL for advanced data extraction and structuring.
  • Solid proficiency in Python for automation, data processing, and analytical workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and data warehouses
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations in Tableau (or similar BI tools).
  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts such as P&L, budgeting, forecasting, revenue/cost analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Extract, clean, and transform large datasets from internal systems using SQL and Python.
  • Build automated scripts and data pipelines to streamline recurring reporting and analytical tasks.
  • Conduct financial analysis, including KPI monitoring, trend evaluation, variance explanations, and ad-hoc deep dives.
  • Develop dashboards and visual reports in Tableau (or similar BI tools) to support data-driven decisions when needed.
  • Maintain and enhance internal datasets, documentation, and data governance practices.
  • Collaborate within Finance, Accounting, and Business teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Perform routine data quality checks and resolve discrepancies in financial or operational datasets.
  • Support month-end reporting, including automation of manual tasks and analytical validations.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, proposing enhancements for efficiency and automation.
  • Participate in additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
