Finance Data Scientist Intern
About The Position
23XI Racing is looking for a college junior or senior to serve as the Finance Data Scientist Intern. This role offers hands-on experience in applying data science techniques to financial data, supporting decision-making, and driving insights that impact business strategy. This is a paid internship. You will need to be able to work 20-40 hours per week. Hours may include some racing events, throughout the semester that may occur on evenings and/or weekends. Requirements
- Junior or Senior obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial modeling
- Proficient with office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Attention to detail and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and apply emerging technologies in finance and business strategy
- Organized, professional, and a self-starter
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
- Able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when privy to sensitive information
- Be a flexible and reliable teammate, both within the department and the company as a whole
- Thrive in a dynamic, deadline driven environment
- Presents self in professional manner and has the ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
- Ability to work extended hours including evenings and/or weekends
- Ability to attend company events
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of detailed financial models for reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing financial datasets
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to improve reporting efficiency
- Collaborate with finance professionals to identify areas for data-driven improvements
- Explore emerging analytical tools and technologies to enhance business intelligence capabilities
- Support automation of reporting and financial processes using Microsoft Excel and Power BI
