Shield AI is seeking a Finance Data Engineering & Analytics Manager to join our Finance team. This pivotal role will drive the scaling of our data-driven decision-making processes, providing real-time insights that shape key financial and operational strategies. You will leverage advanced analytics, visualization tools, and financial modeling techniques to support strategic initiatives and enhance performance optimization.

  • Lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive data strategy to enhance data quality, governance, and accessibility across Finance.
  • Utilize SQL, Python, and advanced Excel techniques to extract, transform, and analyze complex datasets.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Fabric data warehouse / lakehouse to consolidate and house key financial & operational data from disparate data sources across the organization to build a single source of truth.
  • Automate data workflows and optimize extract, transform, and load processes to improve reporting efficiency and data integrity.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide real-time financial insights for key stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Accounting, and Program Finance to integrate financial data with broader business intelligence frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment with company-wide data architecture and compliance with data governance standards in collaboration with IT and Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business intelligence, financial analytics, or data strategy roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel (including Power Query and Power Pivot) for data visualization and analysis.
  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data integration skills.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure.
  • Understanding of data modeling and database design principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of database systems and SQL.
  • Experience in a software, defense technology or aerospace company.
  • Deep knowledge of ERP / MRP systems like SAP or Deltek Costpoint and integration with BI tools.
  • Experience working with Python and/or Microsoft Fabric for data management, analytics, and automation.
  • Exposure to FP&A processes and strategic financial planning in high-growth or startup environments.
  • $120,000 - $185,000 a year
  • Pay within range listed + Bonus + Benefits + Equity
