About The Position

University Advancement (UA) Finance manages non-compensation budgets and transactions for the department, as well as providing information and support to internal and external stakeholders. This position provides a wide range of financial services for University Advancement including financial transaction processing, supplier statement research and reconciliation, expense report review, and related financial activities. The Finance Coordinator will be part of a team that ensures UA is following all WashU policies and procedures in these areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
  • Accounting, Business, Administrative Support (3 Years)

Responsibilities

  • Process online documents in Workday, such as purchase orders, change orders, supplier invoice requests, expense reports, internal service delivery documents, supplier invoices, journals, and cash sales deposits. Ensure expenditures follow policy and are accurately entered and approved.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact and resource for assistance with finance services, providing professional and courteous customer service to departments supported by UA Finance. Act as liaison between the department, suppliers, and central area functions such as Accounts Payable, Resource Management, and General Accounting.
  • Assist with analysis of department revenue and expenditures and preparation of financial reports as assigned. Monitor account balances, maintains open encumbrances and processes journals as needed. Assist with fiscal year end close.
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy of transactions. Provide feedback on UA financial processes and systems. Ensure consistency of accounting practices and adherence to university policies and procedures. Maintain a thorough up to date knowledge of policies and procedures, including the University’s statement of internal controls.
  • Complete special projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
