We are seeking an enthusiastic, driven, and collaborative coop student to join our Markham Plant Finance team for and 4 or 8-month work term. Great opportunity to learn Manufacturing Finance.
Support Grid Automation Factory Finance Leader with reporting, tracking, analysis of selling, Factory costs, and other ad-hoc tasks for the Markham site.
Prepare Backlog reports and monitor margins.
Complete and monitor materials costing. Investigate discrepancies.
Evaluate and make the necessary journal entries to reallocate costs and monitor appropriate freight cost allocation.
Complete reporting and analysis to support continuous improvement.
Provide analysis and determine revenue/cost of shipment deferrals to comply with US GAAP revenue recognition reporting.
Utilize Power Query and Power BI to prepare monthly cost tracking reports.
Play a crucial role in managing Fixed Assets in Business, maintaining transparency and control through independent verification of items (audit) and tracking financial tags attached to the assets.
Support Statistics Canada reporting.
Audit the accuracy of the operational cycle count programs of inventory used in the Supply Chain.
Active participation in the planning and execution in the annual physical inventory count.
Reporting of aging of internal receivables and following up with counter parties in Supply Chain or the Commercial Trading Units to settle the invoices.
Reporting variable cost productivity for execution of the Supply Chain Financial Operating Plan. Identifying opportunities to improve execution or reduce poor cost of quality. Leading implementation of the opportunities to reduce the cost footprint.
Analyze significant cost pools such as freight and scrap to identify waste, redundancy through root cause analysis of the spend in these pools.
Support Operating Plan and operating blueprint as required.
Enrolled in a Commerce or Accounting, Finance program, preferably 3rd or 4th year student.
Minimum two (2) co-op work terms within finance or accounting field.
Expectation to work on-site at Markham office five days a week. Some weekend and/or holiday work may be required due to financial deadlines.
This opportunity is for a period of 4- or 8-months commencing January’ 2026 and intended for current students who will be returning to in-class studies upon the completion of the work term, preferably 3rd or 4th year student. It is not open to candidates who will have graduated prior to the start of this position.

Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to prioritize tasks.
Experience using of data query tools, ERPs, spread sheets and MS Office.
Experience dealing with auditors and other financial stakeholders.
