Performs a wide range of professional accounting and finance functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to support the financial processes. Completes documentation and schedules during month-end, budget preparation, and external audit. Provides financial guidance to the Manager, Accounting and Finance to help control costs and provide organization-wide efficiencies. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional accounting experience
  • Any equivalent combination and related education and/or experience will be considered
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and manages short and long-range financial resource planning in consultation with leadership. Evaluates organizational structures and systems, integrates and identifies needs as directed by Executive Leadership, Administrator and Manager.
  • Develop strong relationships with department managers to help coordinate and monitor financial controls over the organizations cost centers according to approved budget guidelines
  • Coordinate accounting and financial processes to maximize efficiency in the daily accounting operations. Ensure that internal control measures are being followed.
  • Maintain general ledger in order to complete and submit accurate financial data during month-end process according to predetermined deadlines.
  • Coordinate month end variance analysis
  • Oversee, review, and manage month end general ledger reconciliations.
  • Facilitates the Manager, Accounting and Finance in daily administrative staff assignments and workflow development.
  • Coordinate other staff duties to accomplish department goals and objectives. Delegate projects/duties as necessary.
  • Assures that expenditures/receipts are properly authorized and appropriate to the funding sources designated.
  • Develop and submit analytical financial data as needed by department Administrator and Manager, Accounting and Finance.
  • Assist in completing and compiling financial support documentation for budget and external audit purposes.
  • Assist in coordination of the budget and external audit review.
  • Train new administrative personnel and audit their progress.
  • Facilitate the Administrator and Manager in daily human resource duties including training, continuing education, and staff development.
  • Assists the Manager, Accounting and Finance in establishing financial priorities; develops criteria to evaluate finance personnel, equipment needs, operational effectiveness, and fiscal requirements.
  • Payroll validation and reconciliation.
  • Prepare information to be submitted through the labor distribution adjustment process to the Shared Services Center.
  • Participate in educational opportunities as provided by the hospital to enhance skill related abilities.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Support performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Ensure duties of specialty focus are completed accurately and timely (i.e. monthly financial statements, consolidated financial statements, bonds, cash flow projections, etc.).
  • Facilitates functions of assigned Accounting Department staff.
  • Supports the fiscal, administrative, and informational needs of new missions of the department and the school as they evolve. Measure accomplishment of financial goals articulated in the current strategic plan and adjust activities to accomplish those goals.
