Duties involve recording transactions, account reconciliations, analyzing and explaining variances from budget to actual, audit and/or tax responsibilities. This entry level role is part of a CFO wide Progression with potential rotations into Audit Services, Controller's Office, Investor Relations, Regulatory Affairs, Tax, and/or Treasury.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Individuals who will be obtaining their degree within nine (9) months from submitting interest will be considered; however, verification of the degree will be required prior to starting in the job
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others.
  • Proficient verbal, nonverbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize work independently and to work in teams.
  • PC Proficiency, including experience with MS Office Products.

  • Previous experience in accounting or finance

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and balances financial data.
  • Utilizes continuous improvement and lean systems methodology to drive out costs and improve the quality of work/life balance.
  • Creates a positive working environment by supporting DTE Energy and the CFO's initiatives.
  • Analyzes financial data to identify problems and various solutions/improvements.
  • Assists in developing reports to communicate information.
