Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience may be substituted with successful completion of any section (AUD, BEC, FAR, or REG) of the AICPA Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with directors, managers, and other staff on the preparation and implementation of policies and programs as assigned.
  • Assist with the analysis and preparation of related applications and budgets.
  • Serve on Hospital-wide or Campus-wide committees as needed.
  • Assist with the development of the Capital Budget and maintain updates to PeopleSoft Fixed Assets.
  • Perform yearly verifications of capital assets with Managers, Clinical Engineering, Facilities, and IT.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and recording of accounting transactions.
  • Perform monthly and yearly reconciliations and provide management reports to administration.
  • Provide footnote information for external audited financial statements.
  • Provide financial and clinical data to management of Affiliate organizations from IDX using the Cognos reporting tool.
  • Oversee the reconciliation process and internal controls of cash handling and applications within the Patient Accounting systems.
  • Work with Supply Chain staff and Inventory managers to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls for inventory.
  • Prepare related monthly and yearly reconciliations of the inventory subsystem to the general ledger.
  • Research and assist in the resolution of Inventory Cost Accounting exceptions.
  • Work with Supply chain, Inventory managers, and the Controller's office to develop and document processes and procedures.
  • Interpret related rules, regulations, codes, and policies.
  • Implement or assist with the implementation of programs to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other related duties within the Controller's office, including complex queries from the general ledger or patient accounting systems to help with the analysis of new programs.
