About The Position

Inside the Role Within Daimler Truck North America, the Product Validation Engineering (PVE) Department is responsible for all component and system level validation to ensure our products lead the industry in reliability and support the lowest ‘Total Cost of Ownership’ objectives for our customers. PVE Business Operations is a multi-faceted department responsible for developing, planning, and assembling test trucks; procuring and fabricating test parts; managing test facilities; and planning/controlling the overall department budget. The Finance/Budget Analyst collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop (and implement) cost-savings initiatives and operational efficiencies. This high-visibility role offers an opportunity to provide strategic guidance on business-critical initiatives. Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Accounting, Finance (or related field) and 1 year of related experience, OR AA and at least 3 years of related experience, OR 5 years of related Daimler experience in lieu of degree.
  • Proficient in SAP (cbFC), MS Office Suite, Power BI or other analytics tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Finance-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An attached resume is required

  • Experience with Daimler Truck systems.
  • Experience supporting new systems and change management.
  • Experience working across reporting structures to solicit and report continuous improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate budget reviews and planning for 17 managers across current and future projects, managing ~$30M in project expenses bi-annually.
  • Analyze labor planning against headcount, identify risks, and report mitigation strategies to executive leadership.
  • Create quarterly Journal Entries to ensure costs are allocated correctly to projects and cost center(s)
  • Maintain project base assumptions and reference budgets (historical testing spend) to assist in future project planning
  • Track and report deviations from project budget, headcount and CapEx targets
  • Support budget consolidation during FC03 and FC09/BP planning cycles.
  • Create/support dashboards and reports to executive leadership (Mission Control Board)
  • Plan and support execution on annual CapEx requests (~$4M), ensuring alignment with financial targets and reporting status to leadership.
  • Support testing and implementation of new finance and EPM tools (e.g., BEAM, Regrello).
  • Create and present budget status reports to project planners, identifying cost center trade-offs and budget risks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to help move the department toward “Blue- Sky" goals
  • Create Purchase Requisitions/Goods Receipts as needed
  • Support miscellaneous and ad-hoc requests
