About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry is looking for multiple Finance/Accounting Professionals to assist at both the divisional and departmental levels. These specialists will be crossed trained in both finance and revenue cycle. Finance responsibilities will include annual funding processes, budgeting, contracting processing/tracking, payment tracking, and finance processes internal to the University system such as Journal Entries (JEs) and Payroll Expense Transfers (PETs). Revenue Cycle responsibilities will include productivity reporting and analysis, ad hoc report pulls for medical/clinical/administrative directors, cross mapping processes and tracking, and working with the DOP partner’s at CUMedicine and internal partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
  • 1 year of professional experience (finance, accounting, revenue cycle) for Intermediate level
  • 2 years of professional experience (finance, accounting, revenue cycle) for Senior level
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations in order to support the department in maintaining appropriate fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Experience managing and handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suit
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration
  • Experience working in an academic and/or healthcare finance environment
  • Experience using CU programs (Smartsheet, HCM, PowerBI, MyBi CU Marketplace, Concur Travel & Expense) or similar programs.
  • Experience working with students, staff, and faculty, within a higher education and/or academic medical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Processing of Journal Entries and Payroll Expense Transfers
  • Annual Funding processes
  • Participation in team meetings and divisional team meetings
  • Contract and payment processing, tracking, and invoicing
  • Monthly productivity report pulls and analysis in preparation for monthly meetings with medical/clinical directors and division/section administrators
  • The creation of ad hoc reports in MyBi
  • Other Duties as assigned
