The Finance Accounting Manager oversees daily financial and accounting operations, including general ledger close, accounts receivable and payable, financial systems management within our department, and select administrative functions. This role demands a hands-on leader who actively develops team capabilities, reviews journal entries and account reconciliations, and maintains corporate schedules and reports. The manager ensures compliance with company accounting policies and drives process improvements through the implementation and training of financial software that enhances efficiency, accessibility, and data distribution.

  • Guide, train, and supervise the staff, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures, with an emphasis on proper transaction approval, safeguarding of assets, and segregation of duties
  • Prepare accurate, complete and timely financial closes
  • Maintain accurate general ledger transactions through journal entry review and periodic review of GL account coding from others within the company
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet accounts and amounts, ensuring proper reconciliations are completed on a timely and accurate basis
  • Assisting the Director and budget managers in developing and monitoring departmental project, and organizational budgets
  • Continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve finance and accounting operations through technology including training staff to better utilize financial and accounting software
  • Managing select administration activities, such as state unemployment and income tax registrations, and managing audit and tax requirements
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience
  • At least 2 years of public accounting experience (audit) preferred
  • Certifications: CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred; other advanced certifications also valued
  • Strong grasp of GAAP and the ability to apply accounting principles effectively
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including spreadsheet creation, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data visualization.
  • Hands-on experience with financial management systems such as OneStream, SAP, or Acumatica.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a track record of working in multidisciplinary, diverse, and dynamic environments
