About The Position

The Finance Accounting Lead Analyst participates is a senior level position responsible for leading efforts that ensure the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance team. The overall objective of this role is to drive efforts to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L and balance sheet reporting.

Requirements

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Knowledge of derivative instruments and the accounting for them (including hedge accounting).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Finance industry trends
  • Contribute to the directional strategy of the Finance function, anticipating the impact to daily work and the business
  • Evaluate and resolve complex issues and select the best action by weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting needs
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • ASC 815 hedge accounting subject matter expert for certain Treasury fair value, cash flow, or net investment hedge programs responsible for: Hedge program governance, ensuring adherence to the hedge program requirements, hedge documentation and controls.
  • Application of accounting standards, monitoring hedge metrics including effectiveness regressions, reviewing daily measurement of hedge ineffectiveness, hedge volume levels, among others.
  • Review new hedge designation and hedge de-designation and validate that transactions are conducted following the ASC 815 guidelines.
  • Manage monthly USGAAP reporting including preparation of journal entries and completion of deliverables such as regulatory reporting and 10Q/K requirements.
  • Participate in discussions with trading desks, accounting policy and other stakeholders on business and product initiatives and advise on accounting and infrastructure implication of proposals.
  • Perform tie-outs of derivatives disclosures on a quarterly basis
  • Represent as hedge accounting subject matter expert in initiatives in response to new regulations, new transactions, and technology implementation.
  • Perform control and operational risk management functions through regular risk assessments and implementation of robust internal control activities.
  • Streamline and enhance existing processes to achieve greater efficiency and a stronger control environment.
  • Participate in reviews with external auditors, internal audit and other regulators.
