About The Position

The Finance & Accounting Intern at CertainTeed Corporation will support the Roofing finance team by providing value-added analysis and assisting with various projects aimed at enhancing existing analysis and reporting processes. This role involves working closely with different departments to streamline financial operations and improve reporting accuracy.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate across functions.
• Solid foundation in general ledger accounting.
• Experience analyzing variances in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment.
• Strong Excel skills, including macros and pivot tables.
• Ability to handle and understand multiple IT platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SAP/Qlikview or other large ERP systems.
• Experience with GL Wands and Magnitude.
• Experience with Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Assist in lease accounting cleanup and management of contracts for leases not recorded in the system.
• Create process maps for plants and fleet management.
• Conduct quarterly reconciliations and collaborate with the Senior Financial Analyst to establish efficient processes.
• Work with the Plant Controller to reclassify non-lease related expenses to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
• Streamline budget presentations in both PDF and Excel formats across all Roofing plants.
• Perform gap analysis to obtain updated support for all controls.
