You will perform a variety of hands-on operations in accordance with standardized processes within customer specifications. Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for a Final Verifier to join our Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) group in Hampton, Virginia. The shift hours will be determined after training completion . Training is 1st shift, M-F 6am-2pm or 2nd shift, M-F 2pm-10pm . New Hire Starting Rate: $21.65 p/hr. ; After 6 months: $24.06 p/hr. This position will receive an hourly “shift premium” of $1.00 p/hr. while assigned to an off shift. Job Summary : The Final Verifier will visually inspect metal castings for dimensional accuracy and surface defects to meet customer's specifications.

Requirements

  • An application must include a resume and two professional references for review and consideration.
  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Applicants must have at least two years of continuous related manufacturing experience or training.
  • Recent high school or college graduates without prior work experience must provide a letter of recommendation.
  • Availability for all shifts (including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift) is necessary.
  • The ability to work overtime and weekends is required as schedules may vary based on operational needs; flexibility is essential.
  • All newly hired and internal candidates who are successfully awarded this position are required to pass a near vision exam utilizing the Tumbling E Chart per ISO 18490.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow work instructions
  • Record data either manually or by computer as required
  • Fully inspect castings for imperfections
  • Check cores and passages for plus metal or other foreign material that could restrict gas flow using hand gauges
  • Identify some castings with the electric etching tool or the engraving vibro-peen tool
  • Maintain packing and boxing supplies
