About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Final Inspector IV, who will be responsible for ensuring product integrity is maintained to all requirements and performing return to service activities for aircraft components and accessories. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an MRO/Aftermarket environment working in inspection, specifically working or writing FAA Form 8130, or as a Mechanical Repair Technician or Avionics Repair Technician.
  • This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-4 years of experience working with aircraft components or have completed a formal training course acceptable to the FAA
  • A&P License or ability to obtain a repairman certificate under FAA 14 CFR Part 65
  • 1-2 years of experience in NDT
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Generate Authorized Release Certificates (ARC) for multiple regulatory civil aviation authorities or Certificates of Conformance for military customers
  • Issue scrap certificates
  • Conduct final inspections on electric power, accessories and actuation components as well as subassemblies
  • Ensure no defects in assembly, nor shop paperwork
  • Examine for specified characteristics as stated in the documented information
  • Perform unit shakedown to check for foreign objects and loose internal hardware
  • Mark defects and removing rejects, setting them aside for repair
  • Read and interpret technical data such as service bulletins, component maintenance manuals, or engineering prints
  • Ensure appropriate record keeping
  • Review work order documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring adherence to specifications and conformance to company standards and customers’ requirements
  • Interact with team members and support staff as well as external customers when applicable (source inspection, external approvals, etc.)
  • You will be exposed to products of various weights and sizes, equipment with moving parts, and chemicals that may emit fumes
