About The Position

The Final Assembler performs hands-on mechanical assembly, fit-up, and installation of components on custom-engineered generator enclosures. This role is accountable for safety, consistent quality, efficient throughput, and effective collaboration with fabrication, electrical, welding, and paint teams. Work involves galvannealed steel, stainless steel, and aluminum folded-panel designs; adherence to acoustic, wind-load, and seismic specifications; and readiness for marine-grade coating systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings (testing may be required).
  • Tape-measure proficiency to 1/16"; competent with calipers, squares, and gauges.
  • Mechanical aptitude; proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of rigging and safe material handling.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in enclosure, HVAC housing, or large metal-structure assembly environments.
  • Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, or galvannealed materials.
  • Overhead crane and/or forklift experience or certification.
  • Familiarity with acoustic insulation systems and enclosure sealing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; strong workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble enclosure components (doors, panels, frames, hinges, latches, louvers, brackets, insulation, seals, hardware) to drawings and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, tolerances, and measurements.
  • Perform layout, fit-up, drilling, fastening, sealing, and finishing with minimal supervision.
  • Use hand/power tools (drills, impacts, grinders, cut-off wheels, magnetic drills) and torque tools to specification.
  • Install gaskets, weather seals, acoustic insulation, and structural reinforcements per specification.
  • Set up, adjust, and safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, and material-handling equipment.
  • Inspect completed work for fit, finish, dimensional accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify assembly issues and communicate concerns to supervisors, engineering, or QA.
  • Maintain production schedules by completing assigned work on time.
  • Proactively identify unsafe conditions and follow all safety procedures.
  • Support team productivity by collaborating across fabrication, weld, electrical, and paint.
