Wilkes University invites applicants for an open Film Production high school enrichment teaching position in the Upward Bound Program for the summer session. Upward Bound is a federally funded Trio Program, which provides support to participants in their preparation for college and ultimately, in their higher education pursuits. The successful candidate is responsible for implementing the enrichment component of the program by introducing students to the fundamentals of film production, including but not limited to scriptwriting, storyboarding, cinematography, lighting techniques, sound design, and basic editing. Students will gain hands-on experience in both pre-production and production phases, working collaboratively to create a short film(s). Emphasis will be placed on storytelling techniques, technical skills, and the creative process behind filmmaking. Throughout the course, students will develop their own projects and participate in editing and post-production to create a finished film, which will be showcased at the end of the summer session.
