About The Position

The Filling Machine Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of filling equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Company quality standards. This role ensures compliance with all safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements and reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-6 months of experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment strongly preferred; dairy industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to effectively present information to other employees.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Effective interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Properly supply information and documentation to support accurate inventory control.
  • Ability to maintain good relations with co-workers and show courtesy to co-workers, customers, relatives of employees, and others with whom contact occurs.

  • Willingness to support cross-functional teams and flexible job duties as needed.
  • Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Must pass a company pre-employment background, physical, and drug screen prior to commencing work.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to operate filling equipment, adhering to all quality assurance, productivity, OSHA, and safety standards.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment for proper cleaning and sanitization according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitor and control all filling weights, filling speeds, temperatures, pressures, and product flow throughout the processing cycle in accordance with established quality assurance standards.
  • Adhere to established testing procedures and submit required samples to laboratory for verification prior to all finished products being packaged.
  • Coordinate product flow between processing and packaging areas.
  • Perform any other assigned duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
  • Maintain good safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Required to wear food safety and sanitation clothing and PPE.
  • This position necessitates conformance to personal hygiene regulations.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Ensure all programs are being upheld and documentation is current.
